8:30–9:00 a.m. Item 1–Call to Order: Welcome and Introductions; Mission and Vision; Approval of Minutes.
9:00–9:15 a.m. Item 2–Creation of WAI Bylaws Committee: The WAI Advisory Committee will form an ad hoc committee to review and propose final draft of the WAI Bylaws.
9:15–10:15 a.m. Item 3–California Department of Education Updates: CDE staff will discuss recent developments within the SED, as well as updates to key areas related to the WAI grant.
10:15–10:25 a.m. Break
10:25–11:00 a.m. Item 4–Student Voice: The WAI Student Voice workgroup will present a summary of their research and propose recommendations to the WAI Advisory Committee
11:00–11:05 a.m. Item 5–General Public Comment: General public comment is invited on any matter, including items not on the agenda. Issues raised by the public may be referred to a future meeting agenda. The Chair reserves the right to establish time limits on presentations.
11:05 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Lunch
12:30–1:00 p.m. Item 6–WorkAbility I Database Presentation: The San Joaquin County Office of Education’s CodeStack team; the WAI Technology, Education, and Communication Committee; and the CDE will present information regarding recent updates and modifications to the WAI database.
1:00–1:45 p.m. Item 7–Committee and Region Updates: Region co-managers and committee chairs share news and updates.
1:45–2:15 p.m. Item 8–Assembly Bill 800: Workplace Readiness Week: SED and CDE staff will present information on Assembly Bill 800, which authorizes Workplace Readiness Week in local educational agencies across the state. The WAI Advisory Committee will discuss ways to assist local educational agencies in ensuring students with disabilities, especially students in moderate to severe programs, have equal access to the information presented in general education social science classes pertaining Workplace Readiness Week.
2:15–2:20 p.m. Item 9–General Public Comment: General public comment is invited on any matter, including items not on the agenda. Issues raised by the public may be referred to a future meeting agenda. The Chair reserves the right to establish time limits on presentations.
2:20–2:30 p.m. Item 10–WorkAbility I Advisory Committee Recommendations to the California Department of Education: The WAI Advisory Committee continues to develop a list of recommendations to the CDE.
