Subject: Reading Difficulties Risk Screener Selection Panel Orientation

State Board of Education (SBE) staff gave presentations that provided the Panel an opportunity to learn the Panel’s policies, procedures, and focus.
Action: No action was taken.

Item 03:
Subject: Draft Review Process and Evaluation Criteria Specified Under California Education Code (EC) Section 53008, subdivisions (b)(1) and (g)
Type of Action: Action, Information
Recommendation: The CDE recommends that the Panel present the addendum and related Panel discussion feedback and public interest holder feedback to the State Board of Education at its March Board meeting
Action: Panelist Niessen moved to approve the CDE staff recommendation.
Panelist Wilson seconded the motion.
Yes votes: Panelists Grasso, Graveline, Guerrero, Kim, O’Brien, Odegard, Niessen, Martinez, and Wilson

The motion passed with nine votes.
