Homeless Youth Expulsion Rate

The latest DataQuest report on California's homeless youth expulsion rate.

This report displays the K–12 public school, homeless youth expulsion rate by ethnicity for the 2019–20 school year.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: As a result of the statewide physical school closures that occurred in February/March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2019–20 suspension and expulsion data are not comparable to similar data from other academic years; however, the California Department of Education (CDE) has determined that these data are valid and reliable for the period of time that schools were physically open during the 2019–20 academic year. For more information about the impact of COVID-19 on data reporting for the 2019–20 academic year, please visit the CDE COVID-19 and Data Reporting webpage.
