The State Superintendent and the CDE have the authority to make appointments to statutory boards, commissions, task forces, and advisory committees that influence education policy and program implementation.Participation in these bodies ensures that the voice of California's K–12 education system is represented in broader intergovernmental and cross-sector discussions.
