Dear Superintendents of State Special Schools,

Apportionment to State Special Schools for
Proposition 28: Arts and Music in Schools,
Fiscal Year 2024–25

This apportionment, in the amount of $107,602, is made in accordance with the Arts and Music in Schools (AMS) Funding Guarantee and Accountability Act established in California Education Code (EC) sections 8820–8822, enacted by Proposition 28 (2022). The purpose of this apportionment is to provide funding to each state special school to supplement arts education programs. Of the total funding appropriated, 70 percent is allocated based on the share of statewide K–12 and preschool enrollment in the prior year and 30 percent is allocated based on the share of statewide enrollment of economically disadvantaged pupils in fiscal year (FY) 2023–24. This apportionment reflects 100 percent of each state special school’s entitlement for FY 2024–25.

Warrants will be mailed approximately three weeks from the date of this letter. The superintendents of each state special school were notified of this apportionment by email. The notification included a link to this letter and the apportionment schedule, which are posted on the California Department of Education (CDE) web page at https://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/ca/prop2824results.asp.
