International Baccalaureate Test Fees

Funding Description

International Baccalaureate (IB) Test Fee Program removes the financial barriers that prevent many low-income students in high schools from taking the IB end-of-course tests. Funding supports the payment of the IB test fees for income-eligible students.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Low-income students who are enrolled in an IB class and plan to take the end-of-course IB exam are eligible to participate in the program. Upon teacher recommendation, a low-income student who has previously taken an IB class but not the exam may also be eligible to participate.
Other Eligibility Considerations LEAs must document the income eligibility of students participating in the program and maintain documentation of need at the school or LEA site for five years.

Allocation Formula Local educational agencies (LEAs) will be reimbursed up to $95 dollars for each IB exam and $140 dollars for IB registration for students whose family income does not exceed 185 percent of the federal poverty level.
