Funding Description

The Local Education Agencies (LEAs) Billing Option Program (LEA BOP), overseen by California's Department of Health Care Services, allows Local Educational Agencies to receive federal Medicaid reimbursement for providing health services to students enrolled in Medi-Cal. This Certified Public Expenditure program supports access to physical and behavioral health services, particularly for low-income students. Funding flows through a designated County Office of Education (COE), which offers technical assistance and support to LEAs.

Eligible Applicants Individuals, institutions of higher education, local educational agencies, nonprofit organizations, other organizations or agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Eligibility is limited to the Santa Clara County Office of Education, designated by the state to provide Technical Assistance for Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) participating in the LEA BOP Medi-Cal Cohort #2. Only this selected County Office of Education may apply for funding to support LEAs in meeting Certified Public Expenditure (CPE) requirements and improving access to Medi-Cal services for eligible students. No other agencies or COEs are eligible under this funding opportunity.
