Assembly Bill 1264 Public Input Survey Open

The Nutrition Services Division is sharing the following communication from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regarding the opportunity to complete a public input survey on ultraprocessed foods in schools:

Greetings Assembly Bill (AB) 1264 Interested Parties,

The Real Food, Healthy Kids Act (the Act, also known as AB 1264 ), was signed into law on October 8, 2025. Please see the Governor’s press release . The CDPH has been tasked with responsibilities to support implementation of the Act and welcomes initial public input through the completion of an online survey.

Survey

CDPH encourages all interested parties to complete the AB 1264 Public Input Survey by November 15, 2026. The survey asks respondents about what CDPH should consider when working to define “Ultraprocessed Foods of Concern” and “Restricted School Foods.” The survey is open to the public, and CDPH seeks input from those that grow, process and/or manufacture school food, those that sell food to schools, those that purchase school food, those that prepare and serve school meals, and those who eat school food, as well as any other interested parties.
