Dear County and District Superintendents, Charter School Administrators, and School Principals:
A Call to Action: Building a Better Future for California Students Experiencing Homelessness
Please join the California Department of Education (CDE) and me as we convene A Call to Action: Building a Better Future for California Students Experiencing Homelessness Summit on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Los Angeles County Office of Education, 12830 Columbia Way, Downey, CA 90242.
This summit will bring together educators; city, county, and state officials; advocates; liaisons; service providers; and other key partners to develop cohesive statewide solutions to reduce student homelessness and mitigate educational impacts caused by homelessness and the housing crisis. Participants will discuss ideas for future legislation aimed at reducing homelessness and strategies to secure stable housing for students and their families while increasing educational resources for students who are experiencing homelessness statewide.
