Data Reporting - Child Gender


The Child Gender information field indicates whether the child receiving subsidized child care services through an agency’s contract with the Early Education Division (EED) is female, male, and non-binary.

In the Child file within the agency.

Rules and Guidelines

  • This information field is required.
  • There are only two choices:
    • M: Male
    • F: Female
    • X: Non-binary

Error Messages and Solutions

  • The Child’s Gender is required. [801A Electronic File Transfer], [801A Input/Edit]
    Problem: No Information is provided for the Child's Gender.
    Solution: Select Male (M in electronic file) or Female (F in electronic file), or X- Non-Binary (X in electronic file) for the Child's Gender.

  • The “Child’s Gender” is invalid. [801A Electronic File Transfer]
    Problem:
    The information provided in the electronic file for the Child’s Gender is not acceptable.
    Solution: Confirm that valid information (M, F, X) is entered for the Child’s Gender.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The gender was not provided, and I cannot tell the gender. What should I do?

Ask staff responsible for maintaining this information to update the family file for the child so that this question can be answered
