Item 1–Update and Small Group Discussion on the Development of California's Accountability System: Director Cindy Kazanis of the California Department of Education (CDE) Analysis, Measurement, and Accountability Reporting Division (AMARD); and Jenny Singh, Administrator of the Academic Accountability Unit, CDE, AMARD, will discuss recent developments in California's new integrated local, state, and federal accountability and continuous improvement system. Item 2–Legislative Update and Small Group Discussion: Alejandro Espinoza, Legislative Representative, CDE, Governmental Affairs Division (GAD); and Sue Vang, Legislative Representative, CDE, GAD, will provide an information on Assembly Bill (AB) 2704 and AB 1951. Item 4–Discussion with Staff from the California State Assembly Committee on Education: Tanya Lieberman, Deputy Chief Consultant, California State Assembly Committee on Education, and the ACSE will discuss current legislation and issues relating to the education of students with disabilities in California's schools. Item 5–Meetings with Legislators and their Staff: Members of the ACSE will meet with their local elected legislators to discuss the ACSE's role and current issues. (Item type: Information)

Item 6–Discussion with Staff from the California State Senate Committee on Education: Lynn Lorber, Chief Consultant/Staff Director, California State Senate Committee on Education, and the ACSE will discuss current legislation and issues relating to the education of students with disabilities in California's schools.
