Upload SUN Bucks Eligibility Records in EDCS

The Education Data Collection System (EDCS) is now open and accepting submissions for the Supplemental SUN Bucks Collection (SSBC). All Local Educational Agencies (LEA) operating the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and/or School Breakfast Program (SBP) should have SUN Bucks eligibility records for submittal.

LEAs must upload to the EDCS all SUN Bucks eligibility records with start dates between July 1, 2025, and August 31, 2026, derived from:

  • Approved NSLP Meal Applications (Standard Counting and Claiming sites and Provision 2 [base year] sites)
  • Approved Universal Benefits Applications (UBA) (Community Eligibility Provision sites and Provision 2 [non-base year] sites)
  • Local direct certification (all sites)
  • Extended benefits (all sites)

Additionally, LEAs that collect and certify UBAs should ensure all UBA records not still subject to verification are uploaded to the EDCS by April 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. UBA records submitted by April 30, 2026, will be used to determine SUN Bucks local assistance funding.

Please review your data carefully before submission. Records that are incomplete, inaccurate, or improperly uploaded may result in errors or delays with benefit issuance and inaccurate SUN Bucks funding.

Resources to support accurate reporting are available:

If you discover that incorrect data has been submitted to the EDCS, please immediately notify CALPADS-Support@cde.ca.gov and take steps to correct your submission.

If you have questions, please contact the California Department of Education Nutrition Services Division at SummerEBT@cde.ca.gov.
