On February 8, 2022, the California Department of Education (CDE) Nutrition Services Division (NSD) hosted the third Universal Meals Listening Session webinar for school food service operators, chief business officials, and community partners, providing an opportunity for schools and community partners to learn more about the California Universal Meals Program.
The webinar provided information regarding the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and how it can be implemented to easily comply with the Universal Meals mandate in school year 2022-23. Additionally, the webinar provided an overview of Universal Meals, answered frequently asked questions, and featured presentations from two food service directors who discussed innovative ways to implement a successful SBP.
