Responsibility Matrix Tool
In June 2025, the CDE published the CAPSDAC Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed (RACI) Chart in the CAPSDAC Planning Resources for Upcoming Release webpage.
The RACI Chart is intended to be used as a project management tool for local educational agencies (LEAs) to suggest which staff fulfills what role for each task involved in developing a CAPSDAC Data Team and local CAPSDAC Data Governance policy within each LEA. An example is provided in the RACI Chart template, but each LEA may choose their own tools or assign different tasks and roles based on the needs of each individual organization.
The RACI Chart also includes a Contact List with an example of personnel that could comprise an LEA’s CAPSDAC Data Team, and a Definitions and Quick Tips section to support an LEA in developing their own CAPSDAC data team and assigning roles for the RACI. LEAs may find the RACI Chart to be a beneficial tool to support the planning for the transition to the second iteration of CAPSDAC.
This RACI Chart can now be found in the CAPSDAC Planning Resources for Upcoming Release webpage under “CAPSDAC Team Template and Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed (RACI) Chart”.
CAPSDAC 2.0 Draft Code Sets
In September 2025, the CDE published the draft CAPSDAC 2.0 Code Sets. This document includes the code set name, coded value, name, and definition of each allowable code for the second iteration of CAPSDAC. It also includes a glossary of frequently used terms and abbreviations in CAPSDAC with definitions.
This document should be used as a tool to assist LEAs as they begin planning and preparing for data submission to the second iteration of CAPSDAC. The CDE strongly recommends LEAs and Software Vendors who plan to create a software solution for data submission to the CAPSDAC 2.0 to review the code sets and plan for data collection to be ready once CAPSDAC 2.0 is launched.
The CAPSDAC 2.0 Code Sets can now be found in the CAPSDAC Planning Resources for Upcoming Release webpage under “CAPSDAC 2.0 Draft Code Sets”.
Please note that the draft CAPSDAC 2.0 Code Sets are subject to changes pending finalization of CAPSDAC 2.0 business rules. The CDE will communicate to agencies and software vendors for any such changes.
CAPSDAC Customer Service Portal Assistance
In July 2025, the CDE created a survey form for LEA users who do not have existing access to the CAPSDAC website or CAPSDAC Customer Service Portal to primarily use in the instance where a previous Program Director has vacated their position prior to creating a CAPSDAC account for the new or interim Program Director, and there are no other active CAPSDAC users for the LEA. The only other instance this survey should be used is when an active CAPSDAC user cannot access the CAPSDAC Customer Service Portal.

All users who have access to the CAPSDAC Customer Service Portal with a technical assistance-related inquiry should access the portal and submit a ticket to receive support; these users should not use the survey for assistance.
