English Language Arts/English Language Development Subject Matter Committee

1. Welcome and Introductions
   SMC Co-Chair Galvan called the English Language Arts/English Language Development (ELA/ELD) SMC meeting to order. All participating ELA/ELD SMC members introduced themselves and verified the posting of the public meeting notice. The CDE staff members were also identified.
   
   
2. Review and Recommend Cohort 3 Instructional Materials Reviewers (Information/Action)
   SMC Co-Chair Galvan led the committee through the 67 applications received for cohort 3 in batches of 20. At the end of each batch, co-Chair Galvan asked for any comments or questions. There were no objections or concerns raised for any applicant in the cohort.
   
   ACTION: Commissioner Wild moved to approve the 67 applications in cohort 3 and forward them to the SBE for final appointment. Commissioner Isken seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a role call vote of the ELA/ELD SMC members present (4–0).
