English Language Arts/English Language Development SMC

1. Welcome and Introductions
   Call to Order: 3 p.m. by SMC Co-Chair Galvan
   
   
2. Review Deliberations General Session PowerPoint and Facilitator’s Refresher Training Script (Information)
   Jim Long, Consultant, Curriculum Frameworks and Instructional Resources Division (CFIRD), lead the discussion on the draft General Session PowerPoint presentation that will be used during both Session 1 and 2 of the 2015 ELA/ELD Adoption deliberations to be held on July 13–17, 2015 and July 27–31, 2015, at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel LAX in Los Angeles. After a walkthrough of the key points in the general session presentation, he then reviewed the script for a fish bowl performance and an accompanying schedule that will be included as part of the refresher training. The three members of the commission supplied comments and recommended edits to the draft documents. The meeting was then adjourned.
