Subject: Petition for the Renewal of a Charter School Authorized by the California State Board of Education: Consideration of Baypoint Preparatory Academy—San Diego.
CDE Recommendation: The CDE proposes to recommend that the SBE approve the Baypoint Preparatory Academy—San Diego's renewal petition, with the technical amendments, for a term of five years, beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2031.
Actions:
- Motion 1: Commissioner Finnell moved for a recommendation to the SBE to approve the Baypoint Preparatory Academy—San Diego's renewal petition for a term of seven years with the technical amendments outlined in Item 02 (DOCX).
Commissioner King seconded the motion.

CDE Recommendation: The California Department of Education (CDE) proposes to recommend that the SBE approve the Olive Grove Charter—Santa Barbara's renewal petition for a term of five years, beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2031.
Action: Commissioner King moved for a recommendation to the SBE of the CDE staff recommendation.
Commissioner Finnell seconded the motion.

Subject: Consideration of a Determination of Funding Request as Required for a Nonclassroom-Based Charter School Pursuant to California Education Code Sections 47612.5 and 47634.2, and Associated California Code of Regulations, Title 5.
CDE Recommendation: The CDE proposes to recommend that the SBE approve the determination of funding request from Altus Schools Coachella Valley for 100 percent funding for two years, as specified in Item 01 Attachment 1: Proposed Recommendation for a Nonclassroom-Based Determination of Funding Request (XLSX).
Action: Commissioner Taylor moved for a recommendation to the SBE of the CDE staff recommendation.
Commissioner King seconded the motion.
