File Structure: Class Enrollment Record

The table below contains the file structure for the Class Enrollment record. A record is created for every class, gender and ethnicity in a school that has students enrolled on Information Day and includes unduplicated count of students in a class.

Field Name	Field Type	Width	Description
AcademicYear	Character	4	Academic year for the data. This data is collected on the first Wednesday in October. For example '1415' would indicate that the Academic school year is 2014–2015 and the data was collected in October 2014.
DistrictCode	Character	7	This 7-digit code is the official, unique identification of a school district or county office within California. The first two digits identify the county and the next five digits identify the school district.
SchoolCode	Character	7	This 7-digit code is the official, unique identification of a school within California.
CountyName	Character	15	County name.
DistrictName	Character	50	District name.
SchoolName	Character	50	School name.
ClassID	Character	20	A unique identifier for a Class assigned by a local educational agency. The Class ID must be unique within a school by Academic Year. A Class ID represents a unique class in a school for an academic year. A Class is defined as a specific instance where one or more Course Sections are delivered to one or more students by one or more teachers. In most cases, a Class would represent a specific teacher teaching a specific Course Section to a set of students at a specific time at a specific location. In another scenario, a class could represent one teacher teaching multiple Course Sections to groups of students at the same time in the same location.
ClassCourseCodeOrMultCourseInd	Character	40	This 4-digit code is from an extensive list of assignment code numbers for teaching assignments. For a list of all codes and course and assignment titles, use the assignment code file posted on the Staff Assignment and Course Data page. AllClassCourseCodes	Character	500	All course codes being taught in a class. Most classes will contain one code (which will be the same as ClassCourseCodeOrMultCourseInd column). For those classes that have more than one course code being taught in them, all course codes will be listed separated by a semi-colon.
GradeLevelCode	Numeric	2	Grade level for the course enrollment reported in this record The field is coded as follows: KN = Kindergarten TD = Toddler PS = Preschool AD = Adult 01 = 1^st Grade 02 = 2^nd Grade 03 = 3^rd Grade 04 = 4^th Grade 05 = 5^th Grade 06 = 6^th Grade 07 = 7^th Grade 08 = 8^th Grade 09 = 9^th Grade 10 = 10^th Grade 11 = 11^th Grade 12 = 12^th Grade
GenderCode	Numeric	4	The gender for the course enrollment reported in this record The field is coded as follows: M = Male F = Female
EnrollNoEthRpt	Numeric	4	Count of students enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE with no ethnicity/race reported.
EnrollAmind	Numeric	4	Count of American Indian or native Alaskan, not Hispanic, students enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollAsian	Numeric	4	Count of Asian, not Hispanic, students enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollPacIsl	Numeric	4	Count of Pacific Islander, not Hispanic, students enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollFilipino	Numeric	4	Count of Filipino, not Hispanic, students enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollHispanic	Numeric	4	Count of Hispanic or Latino students enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollAfrAm	Numeric	4	Count of African American, not Hispanic, students enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollWhite	Numeric	4	Count of white, not Hispanic, students enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollTwoOrMore	Numeric	4	Count of students reporting two or more races, not Hispanic, enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollTotal	Numeric	4	Count of all students, enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
EnrollEL	Numeric	4	Count of all English learner students, enrolled in the specified course for the gender specified in GENDER and the grade specified in GRADE.
