External Organizations Providing Technical Assistance to 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grantees

The Expanded Learning Division of the California Department of Education (CDE) accepted self-nominations in May of 2023 for eligible organizations to be included as part of a published list of organizations that 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grantees may reference for potential partnerships, technical assistance, or professional development support. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 Section 4201(B)(4) defines an external organization as:

(A) a nonprofit organization with a record of success in running or working with before and afterschool (or summer recess) programs and activities; or

(B) in the case of a community where there is no such organization, a nonprofit organization in the community that enters into a written agreement or partnership with an organization described in (A) to receive mentoring, and guidance in running or working with before and afterschool (or summer recess) programs and activities.

Disclaimers
  • Any organization that meets the submission criteria will be included on the External Organizations list.
  • The CDE does not endorse the organizations on this list, or certify the quality of services provided by the organization.
  • Inclusion on the External Organizations list will not provide a competitive advantage during 21st CCLC grant competitions.
  • The CDE will keep the external organizations on the list for a minimum of three years.
