LFS Use of Funds: Extension to November 29, 2024

In order to support school food authorities (SFAs) who are participating in the Local Food for Schools (LFS) grant, the California Department of Education is extending the usage period for LFS funds from June 30, 2024, to November 29, 2024, for use in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

This extension will assist you to fully expend your grant award. Additionally, and as a result of this extension, the distribution of final LFS reimbursement will occur during the first quarter of 2025.

As a reminder during the extension period, quarterly reporting of funds expended, and submission of invoices and supporting documentation are still required. Final LFS payment is dependent upon fulfillment of reporting requirements.
