Continued Funding Application

Continued Funding Application information, forms, and instructions for California State Preschool Program contractors.

Due: November 14, 2025

California State Preschool Program (CSPP) Contractors that intend to continue services into the next contract year are required to complete and submit a Continued Funding Application (CFA). Failure to complete a CFA constitutes notification of a contractor's intent to discontinue services into the next fiscal year.

Program Questions: If you have questions regarding the CFA, please contact your assigned Early Education Division (EED) Regional Consultant or contact the EED by email at CFA@cde.ca.gov. If you have feedback regarding the CFA process, please send an email to CFA@cde.ca.gov.

Application for License Exemption (PDF) Application for License Exemption Complete this form only if your agency is a local educational agency (LEA) operating a California State Preschool Program (CSPP) applying to renew exemption from licensure pursuant to Health and Safety Code (H&SC) Section 1596.792(o).
Child Development Management Information System (CDMIS) Link to log in to the CDMIS All contractors are required to update contractor information in the CDMIS, print the certification page, and attach it to the CFA.

  • Is Child Receiving Extended Learning and Care? (added 05-Aug-2025)
    The “Is Child Receiving Extended Learning and Care?” field applies to children in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or Kindergarten (K) who also attend part-day California State Preschool Program (CSPP) during non-instructional hours.
  • Is Child Enrolled in a CDSS Program? (added 05-Aug-2025)
    The “Is Child Enrolled in a California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Program?” field shows if a child is also in a CDSS program while enrolled in California State Preschool Program (CSPP) with the California Department of Education (CDE).
  • Is Child Enrolled in a Head Start Program? (added 05-Aug-2025)
    The ‘Is Child Enrolled in a Head Start Program?’ field indicates whether the child is also enrolled in a Head Start program, in addition to being enrolled in California State Preschool Program (CSPP) with the California Department of Education (CDE).
