Classified School Employee Professional Development Block Grant


Funding Description

Classified School Employee Professional Development Block Grant provides funding to local educational agencies for any purpose described in Section 45391 of the Education Code, with first priority being for professional development for the implementation of school safety plans, as set forth in Article 5 (commencing with Section 32280) of Chapter 2.5 of Part 19 of Division 1 of Title 1 of the Education Code, if applicable.

Allocation Formula Apportion forty-five million dollars of the block grant funds to LEAs based on the number of classified school employees employed by the LEA in the immediately preceding fiscal year. Classified school employee means a full-time equivalent of classified staff, as reported in the California Basic Educational Data System.
