Rescinding Promotion of Voting in Child Nutrition

Policy guidance to Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Operators on promoting access to and education about voter and election information in child nutrition programs.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food (USDA) and Nutrition Service (FNS) has rescinded memorandum SP 07-2022, CACFP 06-2022, and SFSP 02-2022: Promoting Access to Voting through the Child Nutrition Programs, issued on March 23, 2022. This memorandum was based on Executive Order (EO) 14019: Promoting Access to Voting that was released March 7, 2021.

On January 20, 2025, EO 14148: Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions was issued which revoked EO 14019. As a result, USDA FNS rescinded memorandum SP 07-2022, CACFP 06-2022, and SFSP 02-2022: Promoting Access to Voting through the Child Nutrition Programs.
