School Health Education Consultant Examination


The School Health Education Consultant is the full journey level in the series. The Consultant serves as a departmental spokesperson on school health education in a geographic area, or serves as a statewide specialist for particular education program components.

Job Description

The School Health Education Consultants have general responsibility for all activities in their geographic, subject matter of functional area. They provide coordination and liaison among various private, State and other public agencies which provide services to school children; evaluate curricula for use in school health education programs; review recommendations of lower level staff related to applications for funding, site and facilities inspections or program components and decide what action is to be taken; participate in developing the annual work plan as part of the program budget; and perform the more difficult, sensitive, and complex program formulation, analysis and implementation, administrative and assessment activities. Consultants may also provide leadership and training to incumbents in the Assistant level class in the series.

Qualifications Assessment Questionnaire

The California civil service selection system is merit-based, and eligibility for appointment is established through a formal examination process.This School Health Education Consultant examination consists of a Qualifications Assessment Questionnaire that will be used to evaluate your experience, and education. The questionnaire is the entire examination and will account for 100% of your score. Candidates will receive notification of their list eligibility and score by mail.
