Verification Visit by the OSEP

The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) is responsible for ensuring that states meet their general supervision responsibilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

During the week of September 27, 2010, the OSEP reviewed critical elements of California’s general supervision, data and fiscal systems, and the State’s systems for improving child and family outcomes and protecting child and family rights.

Please contact the United States Department of Education to receive a copy of the archived OSEP letter informing California of the review results.
