Tobacco-Use Prevention Education: Grades 6-12 Tier 2

Funding Description

The Legislature requires that the funds allocated under this Tier 2 Request for Application must be used to develop anti-tobacco education programs and tobacco use intervention and cessation activities in order to reduce the number of students in California who begin to use tobacco, continue to use tobacco, or both (HSC 104420(k)(1)).

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants Local educational agencies
Required Eligibility Criteria Local educational agencies must be certified tobacco-free by July 1, 2020. Funding is available to districts, charter schools, consortium leads, and county offices of education that serve students in grades six through twelve.

Allocation Formula Funding for this grant is based on the ADA for the grade levels to be served by the application as reported for the second period (P-2) of the 2018-19 school year. The total maximum allowable funding is $54 per student ADA for the full three-year term of the grant (i.e., $18 per student ADA for each year of the grant).
