Funding Description
As part of the Quality Counts California Local Consortia and Partnerships Grants Request for Applications (RFA), the California State Preschool Program (CSPP) Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) Block Grant awards site QRIS block grants at quality rating Tiers 4 and 5 to help address the additional costs associated with reaching and maintaining high levels of quality. At Tier 3, the funding can provide support to help programs improve their quality and tier rating.

Required Eligibility Criteria |
Applicants must be a part of a local QRIS consortium; Partnerships and Signatures of Consortium Participants are required; consortia must implement a QRIS incorporating the Quality Continuum Framework; consortia must use a shared Tiered Rating Matrix. |
Other Eligibility Considerations |
The funding will be allocated for the CSPP QRIS Block Grants in fiscal year (FY) 2022-23. Applicants awarded a CSPP QRIS Block Grant will receive funding subject to quarterly fiscal reporting (California Education Code sections 8426 (a)(1) and 8203.1(g)). A letter of intent was due on March 2, 2022. |
