Funding Description
Funding for a county office of education (COE) to develop and provide training for educators at school sites that are eligible for the Literacy Coaches and Reading Specialists apportionment to become literacy coaches and reading specialists. The COE selected shall have expertise in literacy instruction and multilingual education to provide training for educators to become literacy coaches and provide credentialing opportunities for educators to become reading and literacy and bilingual specialists.

County Offices of Education are eligible for participation in the Literacy Coaches and Reading Specialists Educator Training competitive grant program. |
| Other Eligibility Considerations |
Priority is given to applicants with demonstrated success in improving literacy instruction/outcomes through dual language immersion and other programs for multilingual learners (ML), through professional development (PD) based on the English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework, the English Learner Roadmap, and the Literacy Roadmap, especially for English learners and other high-need pupil groups and for those partnering with institutions of higher education with demonstrated success in providing statewide PD for expert literacy practice for ML. |
