On April 19, 2022, the California Department of Education (CDE) hosted the sixth Universal Meals Listening Session webinar for school food service operators, chief business officials, and community partners, providing an opportunity for schools and community partners to learn more about the California Universal Meals Program (Universal Meals).

The webinar provided detailed information on the differences between meal applications and alternative income forms. The CDE’s School Fiscal Services Division provided information about the requirements surrounding alternative income forms, and local program operators shared best practices for the collection of meal applications and alternative income forms.
