Divisions

Analysis, Measurement & Accountability Reporting Division -- Cindy Kazanis, Director
The division leverages policy and technical expertise to provide comprehensive data and statistics about California's K-12 public educational system that empower state, district and local educators, researchers, policymakers, and communities to use data to:

  • Identify strengths, challenges, and areas in need of improvement at state and local levels in order to advance equity and ensure that all students have access to a high-quality education;
  • utilize the California School Dashboard and DataQuest to examine and compare student group performance data of districts and schools to participate in decisions to improve student outcomes.

Educational Data Management Division -- Jerry Winkler, Director
Provides leadership within CDE to manage its data, collects demographic data from districts and schools, and assists the field in their use of technology to improve learning.

Technology Services Division -- Rodney Okamoto, Director
Provides our internal customers with IT leadership, technical services, and a state-of-the-art infrastructure that enables them to deliver effective education services in California.
