CAPSDAC 1.0 is being retired August 1, 2026, after the certification of the June 2026 data.
CAPSDAC 2.0 is launching July 1, 2026, for the 2026–27 school year. There is a one-month overlap where both systems will be live. July 2026 data will be the first month’s data certified in the CAPSDAC 2.0 system.
CAPSDAC 2.0 launch is a phased roll out of data domains and certification.
Phases and Data Domains
- Phase 1, July 2026: Classroom, Staff, Staff Assignment, Staff Classroom, Child, Family, Language, Supplemental Language, Enrollment, and Classroom Enrollment.
- Phase 2, January 2027: Attendance and Education Program.
- Phase 3, 2030: Incident and Incident Result.
Phases and First Certification of Each Certification Type
Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) should submit data to CAPSDAC on an ongoing basis. However, during the monthly (monthly submission), the fall (fall submission), and at the end of the fiscal and traditional school year (end-of-year [EOY] submission), LEAs are required to review certification reports which reflect certain data which have been submitted to CAPSDAC.
- Monthly Certification: Enrollment Information (Phase 1), Attendance Information (Phase 2)
- First certification of Enrollment Information will be due in August 2026 of the July 2026 data.
- First certification of the Attendance information will be due in February 2027 of the January 2027 data.
- Fall: Information from all other records that is not certified in the monthly certification.
- First certification will be due in December 2027 and will be certifying a snapshot of the data as of Census Day (the first Wednesday of October).
- End of Year: Information from all other records that are not certified in the monthly certification.
- First certification will be due July 2027 of the data from the 2026–27 school/fiscal year.
