The WAI Advisory welcomes public involvement. Opportunities for public comment are provided at every meeting.

Reasonable Accommodation for Any Individual With a Disability

  • Item 1—Call to Order: Welcome and Introductions; Mission and Vision; Approval of Minutes.
9:15 to 10:45 a.m.
  • Item 2—Development of Action Plan: The WAI Advisory Committee will share the committee and regional goals aligned with the four priorities of WAI established at the last advisory meeting.
10:45 to 11:15 a.m.
  • Item 3—California Department of Education Response to WorkAbility I Advisory Committee Recommendations: The CDE will respond to the recommendations provided by the WAI Advisory Committee.
11:15 to 11:25 a.m.
  • Item 4—Public Comment: General public comment is invited on any matter, including items not on the agenda. Issues raised by the public may be referred to a future meeting agenda. Chair reserves the right to establish time limits on presentations.
11:25 to 11:35 a.m.
  • Break
11:35 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.
  • Item 5—Committee and Regional Updates: Region co-managers and committee and committee chairs share news and updates.
12:50 to 1:00 p.m.

  • Item 8—California Department of Education Update: CDE staff will discuss recent developments within the Special Education Division, as well as updates to key areas related to the WAI grant.
3:15 to 3:25 p.m.

3:25 to 3:50 p.m.
  • Item 10—WorkAbility I Emerging Topics: The WAI Advisory Committee will discuss issues affecting the WAI program.

  • Item 4—WorkAbility I Works for All: Program highlights from practitioners across the state. This month, we will be highlighting projects in hospitals. Representatives from Palo Alto Unified School District will present.
10:50 to 11:20 a.m.
  • Item 5—Sub-committee Reports: The WAI Advisory Sub-committees on Bylaws, Budget, Business Development, and Student Voice will share new information and updates.
11:20 to 11:30 a.m.
