California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) email update, September 6, 2024.

Focusing on the CAASPP System and English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC)—and including, when timely, updates on California’s other statewide assessments. For questions related to test administration, coordination, and trainings, visit the CAASPP and ELPAC website.

2023–24 Assessment Results Preview and Public Release

The local educational agency (LEA) preview of 2023–24 CAASPP and ELPAC results is scheduled for September 18 through October 2, 2024. LEA coordinators will receive a letter with secure logon information on or before September 17, 2024. LEAs may share their results with their local governing board and LEA staff for local planning purposes.

Please do not share other LEAs’ 2023–24 results with the public until after the statewide public release of CAASPP and ELPAC results. The public release of results is scheduled to occur on or before October 15, 2024.

California Assessment Accessibility Resource Matrix for 2024–25

The California Assessment Accessibility Resources Matrix(DOCX) (Accessibility Matrix) for the 2024–25 school year has been updated and is now available on the California Department of Education (CDE) CA Assessment Accessibility Resource Matrix web page. The updated document displays the embedded and non-embedded universal tools, designated supports, and accommodations allowed as part of the CAASPP and the ELPAC systems.

Upcoming Systems Downtime

From Thursday, September 12, at 5 p.m. to Tuesday, September 17, at 8 a.m., the following CAASPP and ELPAC systems will be unavailable for a scheduled downtime:

  • Completion Status System
  • Interim Assessment Viewing System
  • Test Delivery System, including Test Administrator Interface
  • Practice and Training Tests

Reminder: Interim Assessment Shared Practices Webinar Series

Registration remains open for the Supporting Students with Interim Assessments—Shared Practices Webinar Series, which offers insights on using CAASPP and ELPAC interim assessments to support student learning. This series will feature classroom teachers and administrators as they share how they promote and use state-provided interim assessments to support teaching and learning.

The webinar series schedule is as follows:

  • Smarter Balanced English language arts/literacy and mathematics—September 17, 2024, 3:30–5 p.m.
  • ELPAC—September 24, 2024, 3:30–5 p.m.
  • CAST—October 1, 2024, 3:30–5 p.m.

Interim Assessment User Guide and Video Series Now Available!

Information about the CAASPP and ELPAC interim assessments can be found in the recently updated Interim Assessment User Guide External link opens in new window or tab. . This user guide provides guidance on the overall process for the administration of the state-provided interim assessments.
