Seeking Educators to Participate in the Development of the California Spanish Assessment

Do not miss this exciting opportunity to help shape the development of the California Spanish Assessment (CSA). Teachers who work closely with students provide an essential perspective that helps improve our assessments. Participants will provide feedback based on their extensive experience in providing instruction to students in Spanish as well as their familiarity with the Common Core State Standards en Espaňol.

We are currently accepting applications through July 13, 2025, to participate in the CSA Standard Setting Workshop which will be held virtually via Zoom on the following dates:

• July 21–24, 2025 (for lower grades)
• July 28–31, 2025 (for upper grades)

Substitute teacher expenses will be reimbursed, and stipends may be available for meetings that occur outside of contract hours. Summer Registration Open—2025 Interim and Formative Assessment Training Series

Register now for the 2025 Interim and Formative Assessment Training Series summer sessions! Hosted by ETS on behalf of the California Department of Education (CDE), this series includes three independent webinars focused on using the interim and formative components of the CAASPP and ELPAC assessment systems to inform teaching and learning. In addition, five virtual hand scoring workshops will be offered, each designed to introduce educators to the hand scoring process for CAASPP and ELPAC interim assessments. The summer sessions will begin on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Each module in the series offers multiple opportunities to attend. Sessions are as follows:

• Webinar 1: The Formative Assessment Process and Tools for Teachers
• Webinar 2: CAASPP and ELPAC Interim Assessments
• Webinar 3: Educator Panel and Shared Practices
• Workshop 1: Interim Assessment Hand Scoring—English language arts/literacy
• Workshop 2: Interim Assessment Hand Scoring—Mathematics
• Workshop 3: Interim Assessment Hand Scoring—California Science Test
• Workshop 4a: Interim Assessment Hand Scoring—ELPAC Speaking
• Workshop 4b: Interim Assessment Hand Scoring—ELPAC Writing
