English Language Proficiency Assessment Requirements for Foreign Exchange Students
Question of the Week: Are foreign exchange students required to take the Initial ELPAC?
Answer: Yes, all foreign exchange students whose home language survey indicates a language other than English must take the Initial ELPAC. This still applies even if the student provides documentation of English proficiency or verification from another country.
If the student is determined to be an English learner after testing, they will also be required to take the Summative ELPAC in the spring.
