The division leverages policy and technical expertise to provide comprehensive data and statistics about California's K-12 public educational system that empower state, district and local educators, researchers, policymakers, and communities to use data to:

    identify strengths, challenges, and areas in need of improvement at state and local levels in order to advance equity and ensure that all students have access to a high-quality education;
 - 
    utilize the California School Dashboard and DataQuest to examine and compare student group performance data of districts and schools to participate in decisions to improve student outcomes.

Accessing Educational Data
Access publicly available data about  California’s public schools, students, and teachers, including regarding the  following areas: enrollment, graduation and dropout information, suspension  rates, chronic absenteeism rates, course enrollments, staffing and data  regarding English learners.
Accountability
California’s integrated local, state, and federal accountability and continuous  improvement system contains reports that display performance of local  educational agencies (LEAs), schools, and student groups to identify strengths,  challenges, and areas in need of improvement. Information about how LEAs and  schools are meeting the needs of California’s diverse student population is  provided through the California School Dashboard.
DataQuest
Reports for state and federal accountability (i.e., Dashboard), test data,  enrollment, graduation rates, dropout information, suspension rates, chronic  absenteeism rates, course enrollments, staffing, and data regarding English  Learners.
School Accountability Report Card
California public & nonpublic, nonsectarian  schools annually provide information to the community to allow public  comparison of schools for student achievement, environment, resources &  demographics.
