  • Item 1–Call to Order: Welcome and Introductions; Mission and Vision; Approval of Minutes.

  • Item 2–Special Vote: WAI Advisory will vote on one position: Advisory Secretary.

  • Item 3–Committee and Region Updates: Region co-managers and committee chairs share news and updates.

  • Item 4–Bagley Keene and Robert’s Rules of Order Review: Annual review of Bagley Keene mandates related to WAI Advisory and Robert’s Rules of Order to ensure a smooth, orderly, and fairly conducted meeting.
11:20–11:30 a.m.
  • Item 5–Public Comment: General public comment is invited on any matter, including items not on the agenda. Issues raised by the public may be referred to a future meeting agenda. Chair reserves the right to establish time limits on presentations.

  • Item 6–California Department of Education Update: CDE staff will discuss recent developments within the SED, as well as updates to key areas related to the WAI grant.

  • Item 7–Replacing the Term “Stakeholder”: WAI Advisory will discuss input they have received from the field as to a replacement term for “stakeholder” within the WAI Mission Statement and make a recommendation to CDE.
2:20–2:50 p.m.
  • Item 8–Priorities for the Next Two Years: WAI Advisory will revisit the results of the WAI Advisory Survey and discuss priorities.
2:50–3:00 p.m.

  • Item 3– Workgroups: WAI Advisory will conduct consecutive workgroups on the following topics: Student Voice; WAI Annual Program Requirements Report Rubric Revisions; Updating WAI Advisory Bylaws; Training Needs; and Tips from Managers on how to assist those new to WorkAbility.

  • Item 4–Continuation of Workgroups: WAI Advisory members will continue to conduct the workgroups from Item #3.

  • Item 5–WorkAbility I Advisory Workgroup Reports and Recommendations to the California Department of Education: WAI Advisory will report on the progress and next steps for the Workgroups, as well as discuss and provide recommendations to the CDE on various topics.
