Latest Update on Interim Assessment Video Series

The CAASPP and ELPAC Interim Assessment Video Series External link opens in new window or tab. consists of six modules covering the content and purpose of the interim assessments as well as how to use related systems and resources. Some components of this video series are available now while others are under production. These videos will complement the Interim Assessment User Guide External link opens in new window or tab. , which contains more details for educators using the CAASPP and ELPAC Interim Assessments.

California Spanish Assessment

Applications are still open to participate in the continued development of the California Spanish Assessment (CSA). If you are bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English and have at least two years’ experience teaching Spanish, consider joining one of these opportunities to have powerful input on the development and administration of the CSA.

Exciting opportunities to choose from include:

  • Item Review Meeting—March 5–March 26, 2024
    • One full day, two afterschool meetings and independent work time
    • Review items for issues related to content, bias, and sensitivity
  • Speaking Range Finding—There are two tracks to choose from:
    • Track 1 afterschool on Thursdays, March 7–April 25, 2024
    • Track 2 afterschool on Tuesdays, March 12–April 30, 2024
    • Score speaking student samples and identify benchmark responses
  • Writing Range Finding—April 24–June 5, 2024
    • Five weekly afterschool meetings and independent work time
    • Score student writing samples and identify benchmark responses
