CA National Board Certified Teacher Incentive Program

Funding Description

The CA National Board Certified Teacher Incentive Program provides a $25,000 incentive award for California National Board-Certified Teachers (NBCTs) who teach in high-priority schools. This one-time incentive award of $25,000 is paid in $5,000 installments for five consecutive years. The annual payment shall be made upon completion of the school year, and upon approval of a district-certified application.

Required Eligibility Criteria The California Department of Education (CDE) provides Local Education Agencies (LEA) twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) for each National Board Certified teacher that agrees to teach at a high-priority school for five years. Awards granted shall be disbursed in annual payments of five thousand dollars ($5,000) over a five-year period. The annual payment shall be made upon completion of the school year to the LEA. The LEA will disburse each payment to the district-certified and approved applicant.
