Expanded Learning Opportunities Program TA for System of Support


Funding Description

The System of Support for Expanded Learning (SSEL) funding supports local educational agencies (LEAs) that serve for the SSEL Lead County office of Education (COE) to provide field-based technical assistance (TA) and support to current and prospective Expanded Learning Opportunities programs. The regions of the state served by the SSEL COE Lead correspond to the 11 service regions of the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association. As part of the SSEL, the SSEL COEs serve on behalf of the California Department of Education (CDE), Expanded Learning Division, in providing support to local expanded learning opportunities programs based on regional/county needs.

Funding

Legal Authority In 2022-23 fiscal year, the California Department of Education (CDE) allocated $5,000,000 to COE's to provide Technical Assistance (TA), evaluation, and training services to support program improvement, in coordination with activities described in California Education Code (EC) Section 8483.55.

Allocation Formula Each region will receive a base amount of funding. If a region has two or more counties that receive Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) Program Technical Assistance funding, that amount is divided by the number of counties.
