The Whole Child Division is under the Student Support Services Branch and oversees the Family Engagement Office, as well as the Parent Advisory Council and Youth Advisory Council.

Parent Advisory Council

The Parent Advisory Council’s (PAC) mission is to engage families to help shape education policy and represent diverse parent voices in the statewide decision-making process. The PAC is committed to helping close gaps in achievement and to create authentic engagement opportunities that will result in transformative outcomes for California students.

Youth Advisory Council
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a council for equitable change and authentic voice in education. YAC will advise policymakers and interested partners on educational issues affecting young people.
