How to Find a Charter School

California School Directory
A listing of all schools in California. To narrow your search to only charter schools, click "Advanced Search," and in the "Charter" section, select the drop-down list and change "All Schools" to "Only Charter Schools." By default, only charter schools that have not closed are listed; in order to search for a closed charter school, use the drop-down list in the "Status" section and change it from "Active or Pending" to "Closed." After narrowing down your search criteria, click "Search" to display the search results. You can create a spreadsheet of the results by clicking the "Export" button on the search results page.

All California Charter Schools by County
Map of California broken down by county. Click on the county to find all charter schools in that county. Nonclassroom-based schools are highlighted in pink and also specified.

Charter School Locator
Searchable directories that include a list of charter schools, school addresses, funding models, and participation status in the California School Information Services program.
