Early Education Reports

Description

Each early education contractor who maintains an agreement with the California Department of Education (CDE) must regularly submit information about their program operations. These reports permit various CDE offices to determine the number and types of families served, monitor program costs, or assess agency compliance with contract terms.

Schedule of Reports

The following tables list each mandatory report by month and the corresponding due date. It's important to note that some of these reports are only mandatory depending on the agency's classification and the specific programs they operate. We recommend that all agencies review Management Bulletin 24-08, which outlines the requirements in detail and specifies which reports apply to various program types and agency classifications.

Use the letter designation within the Report Type column to determine which of the following offices or individuals to contact for assistance with report preparation.

The “Is Child Receiving Extended Learning and Care?” field applies to children in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or Kindergarten (K) who also attend part-day California State Preschool Program (CSPP) during non-instructional hours.
Is Child Enrolled in a CDSS Program? (added 05-Aug-2025)
The “Is Child Enrolled in a California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Program?” field shows if a child is also in a CDSS program while enrolled in California State Preschool Program (CSPP) with the California Department of Education (CDE).
