Action: Commissioner Brasil moved approval of minutes.
Commissioner Taylor seconded the motion.

The motion passed unanimously.
Note: The Commissioners inadvertently approved the April Meeting Minutes. The Preliminary June Meeting Minutes will be agendized for approval at the December ACCS Meeting.

Subject: Appeal of the Denial of a Petition for the Renewal of a Classroom-Based Charter School Pursuant to California Education Code Section 47607.5: Consideration of Evidence to Hear or Summarily Deny the Appeal of Oakland Charter High (OCH), which was denied by the Governing Board of the Oakland Unified School District and the Alameda County Board of Education.
CDE Recommendation: The CDE proposes to recommend that the Advisory Commission on Charter Schools (ACCS) issue a recommendation to the SBE to hear the OCH appeal. This recommendation is based upon the CDE’s review of the written appeal submitted by OCH and the documentary record, which set out sufficient evidence to hear the appeal.
Action: Commissioner Brasil moved for a recommendation to the SBE of the CDE staff recommendation.
Commissioner King seconded the motion.

No votes: Commissioner Jones

The motion passed by a vote of seven to one.

Subject: Appeal of the Denial of a Petition for the Establishment of a Classroom-Based Charter School Pursuant to California Education Code Section 47605(k)(2): Consideration of Evidence to Hear or Summarily Deny the Appeal of Tustin International Charter School, which was denied by the Governing Board of the Tustin Unified School District and the Orange County Board of Education.
CDE Recommendation: The CDE proposes to recommend that the Advisory Commission on Charter Schools (ACCS) issue a recommendation to the SBE to hear the Tustin International appeal. This recommendation is based upon the CDE’s review of the written appeal submitted by Tustin International and the documentary record, which set out sufficient evidence to hear the appeal.
Action: Commissioner Taylor moved for a recommendation to deny the appeal.
Commissioner Brasil seconded the motion.

No votes: None
Absences: None
