To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my strongest support for Baypoint Preparatory Academy (BPA) and to urge the committee to allow the school to remain open. As a parent, having a high-quality charter school option has been transformative for my family and, most importantly, for my daughter’s education.
Since transferring to BPA this academic year from a private school, my daughter has thrived in ways she hadn't before. The difference in support is night and day; she is finally receiving the personalized attention she needs. The results are visible: her MAP test scores and reading levels have increased drastically. This growth is a direct result of the dedicated staff and the support provided through the Student Study Team (SST).
Beyond academics, BPA meets the practical and emotional needs of our family:
* Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP): This program is vital for us. It provides my daughter a productive space to complete her homework in a supervised environment until I can pick her up.
* Inclusive Environment: The staff, specifically Mrs. Lisl Budfoluski, Mrs. Angie Desousa, and Ms. Jennifer Meyer, have been incredible. They have gone above and beyond to support our family’s dietary needs, educational goals, and personal circumstances.
* Enrichment: My daughter has truly found her place here. She loves her art and Spanish classes, as well as the Lovely Leaps dance program.
Transitioning schools is difficult for any child. My daughter has just become acclimated to her teacher, made a best friend, and built a community of peers across different grade levels. Closing BPA would not only disrupt her social stability but would also risk the academic progress she has worked so hard to achieve.
BPA offers a non-traditional public school environment where children are protected, supported, and allowed to thrive. For the sake of our children’s future and the strength of our community, I ask that you keep Baypoint Preparatory Academy open.
Thank you for your time and for considering the impact this school has on our children.
Sincerely,
Kathy Nguyen
Mother of a 3rd Grade Student
