2021–22 Title I, Part A LEA Closeout Report

Consolidated Application and Reporting System (CARS) Winter Release data entry instructions for the 2021–22 Title I, Part A Local Educational Agency (LEA) Closeout Report data collection form.
Data Collection Purpose

Report fiscal year (FY) expenditures to determine 2021–22 Title I, Part A unspent funds and compliance with the availability period.

Note: If the local educational agency (LEA) has carryover funds to report, then this form must be certified annually.

Program Information

Under the federal Tydings Amendment, Section 421(b) of the General Education Provisions Act, any funds that are not obligated at the end of the federal funding period, July 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022, shall remain available for obligation for an additional period of 12 months, through September 30, 2023, within the limits specified in the Every Student Succeeds Act Section 1127.

This data collection is to report expenditures related to the FY 2021–22 Title I, Part A funds. The LEAs that reported a carryover amount in the Winter Release last year must report expenditures related to that carryover amount to ensure that FY 2021–22 Title I, Part A funds were spent by September 30, 2023.
