Statewide LCFF Summary Data

Statewide summary data for the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF).

Local Educational Agency (LEA) funding data for the main components of the LCFF calculation, including base, supplemental and concentration grants. As of 2020–21, LCFF resources and funded Average Daily Attendance by grade span are also included. LEAs include county offices of education (COE), school districts, and charter schools. For detailed funding data for LEAs, see the LCFF funding exhibit calculations available on the Principal Apportionment web page, under the applicable fiscal year.

Overview

Education Code Section 41339.2 requires the Superintendent of Public Instruction to publish the amount of supplemental and concentration grants calculated for COEs, school districts, and charter schools through the LCFF at the First, Second, and Annual Principal Apportionment certifications. Base, supplemental, and concentration grant funding are point-in-time amounts dependent upon an LEA’s average daily attendance and unduplicated pupil percentage for that Principal Apportionment certification cycle. The California Department of Education will update the list through the First Recertification of the Annual Apportionment (AN R1).

The LCFF was enacted with the passage of the 2013–14 Budget Act, replacing the previous K–12 finance system. The Local Control Funding Formula Overview provides information about the main LCFF components. Details for each component in the LCFF Summary Data Excel file are available in the Data Descriptions section of the file. The source data for the LCFF Summary is the Principal Apportionment funding exhibits, available on the Principal Apportionment web page.
