To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my strong and enthusiastic support for the renewal of Baypoint Preparatory Academy (BPA). As a parent, I have seen firsthand the profound and positive impact this school has had on my daughter, our family, and our sense of community.
My daughter has attended Baypoint Preparatory Academy since first grade and is now in the fifth grade. Over the years, BPA has been a consistent and supportive presence in her academic and personal development. She is on an Individualized Education Program (IEP), and the individualized attention she has received at BPA has made a meaningful difference in her growth and success. Teachers and staff take the time to understand her unique learning needs and work collaboratively to ensure she receives the support necessary to thrive. In addition to her educational needs, my daughter has medical issues, and Baypoint has supported her with compassion, flexibility, and understanding. The school has always been willing to help in any way they can, ensuring her health needs are respected while maintaining her sense of inclusion and belonging. This level of care has provided our family with tremendous peace of mind.
Baypoint Preparatory Academy offers a learning environment where students are truly known and valued. The curriculum is engaging and thoughtfully designed, and the positive school culture encourages confidence, curiosity, and resilience. The individualized approach to learning has allowed my daughter to make meaningful academic progress while also developing self-confidence and independence.
BPA has also strongly supported our family’s values and needs. Communication between the school and families is clear, consistent, and respectful. I feel welcomed as a parent and encouraged to be involved, fostering a true partnership between home and school. There is a strong sense of community at BPA that makes families feel connected and supported. What my daughter loves most about Baypoint Preparatory Academy is the caring environment and the relationships she has built. She feels safe, supported, and genuinely cared for by her teachers and staff. The friendships she has formed and the trust she has in her educators have had a positive impact on her emotional well-being and her enthusiasm for learning. The relationships built at BPA—between students, teachers, and families—are intentional and deeply rooted. Teachers go above and beyond to nurture these connections, creating an environment where students feel empowered and supported.
I firmly believe that the renewal of Baypoint Preparatory Academy is essential. BPA provides an educational option that meets the needs of students who benefit from individualized attention, strong communication, and a compassionate school culture. For families like ours, BPA is not just a school—it is a vital support system. The loss of such a school would be devastating to students and families who rely on its commitment and care.
Thank you for considering my perspective and for recognizing the importance of Baypoint Preparatory Academy. I wholeheartedly support its renewal and continued service to our community.
Sincerely,
Michele Vanderlyke
