To the ACCS Commissioners and California Department of Education (CDE) Staff
I am writing as a dedicated parent and proud member of the Baypoint Preparatory Academy (BPA) community to respectfully request your support in renewing the school’s charter. Since 2019, my children have been enrolled at BPA, and the experience has been nothing short of transformative for our family.
One of the most impactful aspects of BPA is the individualized attention each student receives. My children are known—not just by their teachers, but by the entire school community. This sense of belonging has given them the confidence to thrive both academically and socially. They feel safe, supported, and celebrated for who they are. As a parent, that is everything.
Baypoint’s specialized programs have also allowed my children to explore interests that go beyond the standard curriculum. One shining example is their involvement in archery—a unique and empowering activity that not only builds physical skill, but also focus, discipline, and self-esteem. My daughter qualified for Nationals twice, and my son once. This meant so much for them both. Opportunities like this set BPA apart.
The school’s culture of strong relationships has nurtured lasting friendships and meaningful connections with staff. Communication with parents is consistent, thoughtful, and respectful, which reinforces a strong partnership between home and school. The flexibility and understanding BPA offers have helped support our family’s values and needs in ways that larger, traditional settings often cannot.
My children love going to school at BPA. They’re excited to learn, eager to see their friends, and proud of the environment they’re a part of. If this charter were not renewed, it would have a devastating impact—not only on their academic growth, but also on their emotional well-being and daily happiness. Losing this school would mean losing a space where they are truly seen and valued.
Baypoint Preparatory Academy is more than just a school—it is a cornerstone of our children’s development and our family’s journey. I urge you to consider how vital this institution is to the students and families it serves. Please vote to renew BPA’s charter so that it may continue to be a place of learning, connection, and opportunity for years to come.
With sincere gratitude,
Daniel Budfuloski
