To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing in strong support of Baypoint Preparatory Academy’s charter renewal and respectfully ask that you give serious consideration to this letter and the many others you will receive from families like mine.
My son, Maddix Mancini, is currently a 3rd grader at Baypoint and has attended the school since Kindergarten. Having a choice in where my child attends school is extremely important to me. Although we love the city we live in, extensive research—and conversations with other parents—made it clear that our local district schools were not the right fit for our son.
I learned about Baypoint through word of mouth, and I am incredibly grateful that we found it. Our experience with the teachers and staff has been wonderful. Maddix can be quite reserved and has faced challenges with reading and writing. Baypoint maintains high academic standards for both students and teachers, and they have ensured that my son receives the focused support he needs to meet—and often exceed—his learning goals.
Beyond academics, Baypoint has helped Maddix thrive socially and emotionally. He has made several close friends, become more confident and outgoing, and even joined a local soccer league we learned about from Baypoint families. He enjoys daily physical activity at recess and benefits immensely from the school’s well-rounded approach.
As working parents, my husband and I also rely on Baypoint’s free ELOP after-school program. Maddix completes homework, participates in learning activities, and gets outdoor playtime. Many of my friends who are also working parents do not have access to this kind of support; some face long waitlists, and others must pay for programs that are not affordable.
For all these reasons, I sincerely ask that you renew Baypoint’s charter. It is a high-performing school where my son has truly flourished. The loss of Baypoint would have a long-lasting and deeply negative impact on our family.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Chirs and Jennifer Mancini
